Let's start off sweet and simple. I'm going to assume that, if you're reading this, you are a new member. So, let's begin with a welcome. I, personally, welcome you to Dorothy's Children and I hope that you will really enjoy yourself here; for roleplay, for Galerians, and for making friends. I'd like you to take your time to read over the rules of the forum. Now, among the expected rules, there are ones that can easily be overlooked. However, they are very important. So, try not to forget them.
Let's begin...
Main Forum Rules;
Of course, show respect to all members of the guild; whether they are council, or not, respect will be given. If you dislike someone, we won't make you like them, but you need to give them respect anyway. To make it easier on yourself, you can just avoid the person. If you're having problems with any of the members, contact one of the administrators.
As we all know, Galerians is not much of a children's story in the slightest. Please show maturity when surfing the forum or posting threads. We don't need any childish things going about and we sertantly will not tolerate it.
Although curse words have not been blocked out, it would be highly appreciated if you didn't over-use them. If you're in character, we might be more lenient, seeing that some characters curse more than others. But within' chat areas, it won't kill you to cut it down some.
Please avoid using chatspeak. We won't hunt you down if you do. But it would be highly appreciated if you didn't use it fully without rest. It is not fair to the lot of us that don't understand all of chatspeak. As well, we are a literate forum for a reason. But the occasional chatspeak, such as "lol" or "G2G", won't be as much of a problem.
All character posts must be in third-person. Meaning, you are explaining through the view of a narator. (What to do: Susan skipped along the sidewalk and called to her friends. What not to do: I skipped merrily and saw my friends on the other side of the street.)
Roleplaying Rules;
This is most likely the largest section of the rules. As it goes into the rules of roleplaying in the board. Which can be easily law broken, but just as easily; fun and free. So, please concider the following with care.
Absolutely no power playing unless you have been given permission from the character's creator. If you're wondering what powerplaying is... It is as simple as; controlling a character that is not yours. Now, it is not concidered powerplaying if you mention in your post what the character had done in the previous post, as long as it doesn't change anything.
When playing canon characters; stay in character as much as possible. For example; Rion and Lilia have a strong relationship with one and other. It would be out of character if Rion suddenly attacked her without much reason for doing so. If you're playing a character that hates another character. Just avoid that character or, if they meet, avoid having them kill each other.
As a canon, you obviously don't have the right to die. But don't think that this gives you the authority to kill other custom characters. This fits into the category of godness. Unless you have permission from thier creator, don't kill any custom characters. At the first kill without permission, you'll be dumped.
Moving back to the godness; characters cannot be immortal. It is unfair to everyone around you and obviously, humans and galerians are not immortal. Now, it makes sense if your character has strong defenses, but they cannot be impenetrable.
Once again... Don't go around killing everyone's character if you don't have permission from the owner. For one thing, it makes no sense to you or the other character as it is a one way train. Secondly, it is a waste for you, because you'll be dumped immediently.
A galerians abilities can be powerful and deadly up to extremely far extents, but they cannot be strong enough to kill any galerian with one blow. They can, however, be attacks that are hard to avoid, but they cannot be strong enough to single-shot kill.
Currently, the species choice are either Galerian or Human. If you wish to use a different species, you must speak with a staff member first. Who knows? You might end up creating a new breed for Dorothy's Children.
Don't be a baby if you lose a battle, it will happen every so often. If you're going to battle someone, it's highly recomended that you two dicuss everything first. Such as; who wins.
You are aloud to have only ONE thread active at a time. This makes roleplay flow more fluently and prevents confusion. When you are done roleplaying in a thread, try to remember to send a message to forsaken, telling her that you are done with the thread, so that she can move it elsewhere.
Miscellaneous;
You can create as many custom characters as you wish. Please, keep them all on one acount. Just make sure that, when you create a thread, you are sure to tell who that character is. (this will allow you to have characters that are together at more times...)
You are not aloud to create a custom character that is an exact replica of a character from a movie, tv show, video game, anime, or anything else. However, you can use their picture for your character's appearence, or their name for your character.
You cannot create a character that already has connections to the Galerians (Rion, Lilia, Birdman, ect...), but you can create characters that have connections to other characters that you made.
If you choose to place a banner on your signature, the maximum of height is 250px and the maximum for width is 500px. As well, the maximum for icons is 150px for the height and the width.
Please do not create a username that is one of the canon character's names. If you did so because you are applying for a canon, well, please wait until you're sure that you got the character.
------------------------------------
Dumped means that you will either be suspended or kicked out, depending on the rule broken and how you act towards it.
